However a lot of these women, the main examples being Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, have always dressed like this. They were not forced and i have to say most likely love the clothes they were. It does in some case give bad impressions for younger girls telling them to dress this way and that, but i don't think that the way they dress sells their music. It makes they more popular but Beth Ditto sells and see isn't skinny. For the people I know, they probably wouldn't buy the music if the artists singing wore baggy clothes, were overweights, etc. They might not even make a conscious decision, but that's how their minds work. As far as an artist getting signed, unfortunatly it's as important as everything else. And it's a real shame, because once Plain Janes(The, say, 95% of the population) know this, they stop trying. With female artists, I honestly think it's quite disgraceful to women when they're all wearing cat suits and skimpy bikinis. And with men...Well, you know, I can't say I completely ignore when they're good-looking, but I like them for their music, and their looks are just a bonus if I like their music. But luckily this isn't the way with all music, it's mostly Top 40 Pop. Thank god for that. Hey there. This is definitely an interesting topic.
